“ Drinks aren't cheap, and only about 3/4 of the room is comfortable for seeing a gig, but the standard of music performed is generally very high. Don't ask for a terribly fancy drink and get there early for maximum satisfaction. If you're late and order a drink with more than three ingredients, you're going to be disappointed, and the overworked bartenders will walk by you to serve a beer. ”

“ Sugar Mill is, hands down, the best dive bar in Tarzana. Built in the 60's with a Hawaiian theme, the bar top itself is old, bent metal, and it gives the place a character you can't deny -- as do the wood-paneled walls and the clutter of tchotchkes and neon signs. The bartending staff is fantastic. Top notch folks each and every one, and they will take great care of you. GREAT selection of bourbons, ryes and whiskeys, as well as a good assortment of top shelf tequilas. Multiple beers on tap, and plenty of others in bottles and cans, plus seltzers and other alternate alcoholic treats. The place has live music most nights of the week, with an amazing lineup of Blues Bands that play on Monday nights. Open mic music and comedy on Tuesdays, Country on Wednesdays. Good rock Thursday, Friday, Saturday. They've also got several TV's, so it's a great place to watch games, especially during the day. No food. Because they have no kitchen. But there are 3 restaurants in the same center where you can grab food, and dozens of others close by. Lately, some taco stands have popped up in the evening, so you've got that option as well. Do not sleep on this place. You'll love it and you'll have a great time. ”
